On Saturday, the 28-th June 2003, at the headquarter
of APAPS, took place the signing of the contract
for the taking over by S.C. METALEXPORTIMPORT
S.A. of the major share package of the registered
capital of S.C. FORTUS S.A. Iasi.
FORTUS is a heavy technological
equipments manufacturer, with an metallurgical
structure conceived like an unit technological
flow, endowed with complete technological capacities.
Manufacture profile
: equipments, subassemblies and spare parts for
iron industry, metallurgy, cement, mining and
power industry, shipbuildings, gas and crude oil
transport.

AND TECHNOLOGICAL PERFORMANCES
• STEEL
MANUFACTURE
Yearly capacity : 250.000
tons.
The steel manufactures is achieved in electric
arc furnaces of 20,50 and 100 tons capacity. Purity
of hot metal is ensured by ladle metallurgy (vacuum
argon bubbling, VOD – VAD method) or vacuum
treatment ( vacuum casting of the ingot ) or jet
degassing by BV procedure.

CASTINGS
Yearly capacity : 40.000
tons.
Weight of raw parts : 0,1 – 200 tons/pieces
Due to the technologies applied in steel casting
manufacture and the applied heat treatment, the
physic – mechanical propreties can be guaranteed
in accordance to customer’s request.

CASTINGS
Yearly capacity : 40.000
tons.
Weight of raw part : 0,5 – 100 tons/piece.
Fortus is specialized in producing the grooving
rolls for rolling mills and hard crust iron cast
rolls, up to 800 mm diameter.
For the smelting of grey cast iron parts, weighing
up to 10 tons, FORTUS has obtained the Lloyd’s
Register certification.
